each of us contains the full genetic instructions for both testosterone & estrogen driven hormone loadouts (along with varying combos of both)

this can be changed at any time. our genes will even start expressing themselves differently within ~3-6 months.

this is an existential threat to fascists.

That legit makes me sound like a cyborg and I freaking dig it.

Donate new or gently used coats, gloves, socks & winter hats for adults and kids. All items should be clean and in good condition. Drop off at the main desk during open hours.

I've literally had back-to-back-to-back illnesses since fall began and I'm losing my goddamn mind. Having a toddler in daycare is like being put on the rack. And now I'm missing the first fancy work dinner my employer has hosted in YEARS.

We're trying the gentle parenting, name-your-feelings thing, and now my toddler is always saying "[her name] crying. [her name] sad. [her name] mad Mama" whenever I do something she doesn't like. On the one hand, this seems like a valuable skill. On the other hand, damn girl! Mama's doing her best!

A federal advisory panel with power over vaccine policy has voted to stop recommending a universal newborn shot to prevent the hepatitis B virus, which causes liver disease — a major shakeup to the childhood vaccine schedule under Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Vaccine advisory panel votes to end universal newborn hep B shot in major shakeup
Parents appear to be able to continue to get the hep B vaccine for their kids, but the move could cause confusion among families and logistical barriers for health providers.

We know that getting COVID while you’re pregnant increases miscarriages. And they want to take away our ability to reduce that risk. Just that alone is enraging.
If new proposals detailed in an FDA memo are put into place, experts told me it would mean the end of annual flu shots. And end of most vaccines for pregnant people. And maybe the end of updates to pneumonia vaccines. And more.

Why do men need an exclusive vision of virtue? Why don’t they want a universal, ungendered ideal of a good life? Why won’t they share in that striving with us?

i’m genuinely so convinced all of this has been a planned operation by the student and her mother (who is commenting on this publicly, and associated closely with the republican party), and big far right propaganda account going all in on it. this is designed to oust trans people from public life

Rather than simply boycotting e-commerce giants, Free DC is organizing a "procott" in time for holiday shopping.

Their local shopping guide features 50+ spots on board to support D.C.'s autonomy, including @solidstatebooksdc.bsky.social, @metrobardc.bsky.social, @loyaltybooks.bsky.social, and more:

Incredibly irresponsible of NYT to not put the scientific consensus front and center
Meanwhile, even if a reader takes the time to click on and read the article, they still have to scroll past two ads and a list of related stories to get to the "okay but" paragraph explaining that real scientists are highly skeptical of these new FDA claims.

One thing that really strikes you is that ICE does not feel any need to even TRY to reach a baseline minimum of competence and professionalism. They really think they can break a judge's car windows to abduct anyone they want, without any indication that they're after the "right" person.

It illegally infringes upon the city’s ability to direct law enforcement and undermines Congress’s local authority, the ruling says.
