My favorite thing about Frog and Toad is that it is the story of two men deeply and obviously in love with one another, drawn as a tribute to his lifelong partner by a gay man long before their relationship was socially sanctioned.

When I was little, the U.S. military came to our home at gunpoint and took me and my family away. We were imprisoned for years in barbed wire camps simply because we were Japanese American. I have spent my life telling that story, hoping it would never be repeated.

Qatar not just winning but crushing their rivals into submission is probably the best way for PSG to finally win the Champions League. That level of state power that has been brought to bear on the global game cannot be explained by a tight 2-1 as it can by a 5-0 Champions League final demolition

Qatar win the European Cup. An absurd sentence, but a farce of a match, that was an exhibition of superior power - in multiple senses

The record scoreline symbolised the scale of football's issues

You can be happy for Luis Enrique and concerned for this

Paris Saint-Germain 5-0 Inter Milan: Luis Enrique’s team were excellent but their record-breaking victory was unsettling and exposed the two sides of sport

Donald Trump just issued a presidential directive calling for a federal investigation into ActBlue—the platform that powers grassroots donations to campaigns like mine.

Let’s talk about what this actually means. 🧵

this is truly now a Bay Area tradition, I was part of this one in 2017 and if I remember correctly, the first one was IMPEACH during the Bush administration, maybe 2006 or 7? the organizer (same guy still doing it now) was a parent at my elementary school

The Trump-Supreme Court battle is not really the crisis.

The crisis is here now. Trump is enacting an insidious coordinated attack on our institutions of democratic accountability, designed to crater democracy before next fall.

1/ A long 🧵to explain the plan & how we stop it.

This is where we are headed. If you don’t believe me, ask what basis the government had to send me and my family to a prison camp in Arkansas. We “looked like the people who bombed Pearl Harbor.”

Despite what you’ve probably heard, Trump’s immigration agenda isn’t actually popular. While Americans sometimes approve of “the way he is handling immigration” in abstract, they are very negative on the details.

Bone chilling.

A court ordered Kilmar Abrego Garcia to stay in the United States.

The Supreme Court ruled 9-0 that he was illegally removed. Trump is pretending he won the ruling 9-0.

Deporting people means a judge signs a final deportation order, and the person is returned to their own country. What we are doing is kidnapping a person off the street and paying for them to be held indefinitely in concentration camps outside US courts' jurisdiction. 100% deliberately extralegal.
