Underrated part of this story! Both not surprising and mind blowing at the same time. Firing people who make like $50K a year means you can’t collect millions of dollars in entrance fees.

I don’t have access to Barcap but I think it was this note getting published

Kind of underrated this dipshit’s “bring back civility on flights” happened the same week Trump pointed his sausage finger in a reporter’s face on Air Force One and said “Quiet Piggy”

Are they actually “working together”? No of course not. But Mamdani did say they were! Because they both have a shared purpose of serving New Yorkers 🫠
November 22, 2025 at 5:47 PM
I think you can attribute this to Mamdani.

Is it just standard politician speak and he ‘needed’ to be nice? Sure, maybe, but not seeing many people applying that lens to other politicians this year

Yes, as indicated by 20% of respondents with income > $150K saying they’d spend more (even if that’s the case it’s not really an indicator of “food budget shortfall” IMO).

Similarity between “in poverty” to “moderate income” is pretty striking.

No, he did do it in his Gmail.

Lots of headlines about US markets underperforming ROW by most in 15+ years but all of the underperformance happened in 1H. Dead heat since then.

They also hired an outside company to call me too (“Sodali”)

This is pretty funny
November 11, 2025 at 3:59 AM
Anyway. I don’t think they’re telling the truth about “overwhelmingly in favor.” They’ve been calling me 2x per day for months.

So, Invesco (IVZ) is trying to change QQQ’s structure from a unit investment trust to an open ended fund (like most ETFs). The stock fell 9% intraday in Oct when they announced they didn’t have the votes and were delaying until Dec 5, before recovering.

I saw most progressives in favor of congestion pricing, but they came from the angle of “haha it’s so stupid to think this could possibly hurt even 1 poor person.” Which is the same problem.

There’s def a few poor people out there for whom congestion pricing sucks, and that has to be okay.

Helen Andrews, I’ll gladly say directly to your face you’re a stupid asshole. I’ll look you straight in the eye and tell you you’re a waste of oxygen. Then I’ll shove you in the locker I already stuffed Ross in.

As an example, Georgia had 1,301,310 total SNAP recipients. Many are elderly, disabled, or children. 11% of the total worked.
0.3% of the total worked at WMT.
November 1, 2025 at 3:34 PM
CNBC, WaPo and many others covered it. Look what they did. They BOTH claimed that “70% of the 21 million people receiving benefits work full time.” This is completely and utterly false and anyone with basic literacy/numeracy skills could tell you that from first paragraph of the report.
November 1, 2025 at 3:27 PM
Note this is specifically *only* about Medicaid & SNAP beneficiaries *who work.* There is substantial overlap between the pops which the report can’t disentangle, so you’re not talking about 21M people it’s way less. Also agencies from only 11 states responded- some Medicaid some SNAP some both
November 1, 2025 at 3:27 PM
This is wild. Thread nobody will read on our innumerate and illiterate news sources. In 2020 the GAO released a report on Medicaid and SNAP beneficiaries ***who work***. This is the source for many of the claims you see about these programs (Walmart etc) - Bernie was one who requested rept
