38 years ago, Red Wolf howls returned to NC when 8 captive-born wolves were released. Since then, more have followed, including Red Wolf Deven from the WCC in 2021.

This #RedWolfWeek we honor their journey and look ahead to more releases and a future where they thrive.

Do opposites really attract?🐺❤️ With Red Wolves, it might be true. Our research partner Lovin (USU grad. advised by Dr. Julie Young) is studying mate compatibility and early findings suggest wolves with contrasting personalities may be more likely to have pups.
