There’s so much long term damage being created right now.

This is so heartbreaking and makes nothing better and no one safer. It is the punitive act of an administration that values fealty over human health.

A key task for the people who take over after the Trump regime falls is making large enough political reforms to our utterly rotten institutions to win the trust of other countries that nothing like this will ever happen again.

It could very well be too late by then, but we'll have to try.

A humble proposal for @mark-carney.bsky.social. Come up with a plan to build N new world class cities in Canada. Invite high skill and high net worth people from the US to emigrate there quickly. Canada has the land, water and resources. It needs people and capital. And they will come.

If I could speak to the heads of big law firms, I would ask: Is the risk of losing some clients worth betraying your oath to the rule of law?

This whole thing was a deliberate set-up, and the real audience for it was not the American people. It was the global fascist movement.
No, the meeting did not go badly for Ukraine. It exposed in the most undeniable, unequivocal way possible the pro-Putin commitments of the president and vice president. That was information Americans and allies needed to have clear before them.
