That justplainbob from over there. Retired Minnesotan who abides in Stately Moffitt Manor with Mrs. Lungs.
It was just my luck that the Cutters were placed right next to my dorm's team pit stop. We were told to sit just were we where during last year's real Little 500 race. I got to talk to Dennis Quad, who seemed like a real nice guy at the time. He was almost as unknown as me.

My proudest moment was when Dennis Christopher called me "the Lost Cutter" on social media.

I carried a microwave today for a guy who explained that after his knee replacement surgery he toppled and wreaked his "good" leg, and I told him "No, worries, we all get there eventually."

If we are lucky, that is.

I go under the knife in January. Not the same spot, but a slow recovery ahead.

I have not, but I'll take a look.

My only other connection to Steve McQueen is I was an extra in Breaking Away, directed by Peter Yates, who also directed Bullitt.

The star of the film, Steve McQueen (not the British director, the other guy) is from Beech Grove, IN. I grew up not far from there, and had family there, and I didn't know until recently the coolest guy in the movies was from that sleepy SE Indy burb.

Bullitt is also notable for 2 small but notable performances. Georg Stanford Brown played a surgeon, notable because he was Black and this was 1968. Robert Duvall played a cab driver, and on the few minutes he was on the screen, you asked "who IS this guy?!?"

I just checked our bird in the fridge and it is still hard as a rock.

He worked almost exclusively in comedy, but I will always remember Dom's tiny but important role in one of the least-funny movies ever made: the 1964 Cold War thriller, Fail Safe.

I didn't know it until I got one, but there are MN State Park gift cards, good for admission, permits, reservations, and just about everything they offer.

I think Hegseth is doing this because there are no merit badges for drunkenness, adultery, or white supremacy in Scouting.

I'm not sure I could take those slow zooms on his childhood photos while a roots artist plays Hard Times Come Again No More.

I remember him in the Sons of Katie Elder, not a great Western, but memorable for the scene where John Wayne whacks George Kennedy with an axe handle.

Grind away anyone's topcoat, and I'll wager you'll find a very dark surface, indeed.
