🧵 So many posts and articles and videos about how everyone needs to organize NOW; it's everyone's job to defend democracy; we have to set aside our differences, etc. And I agree with all of these things.

Teachers and schools need to know that we are not required to give up our kids. We do not have to open our doors to ICE or the police. Morally, obviously, but also legally. We are our students' legal guardians when they are in our care and we should be making the right call for students' safety.
