The NYT was clearly trying with all their might to put a finger on the scales, but @chasestrangio.bsky.social calling the Supreme Court a "vile institution" in the new NYT piece would seem to me to place him firmly within the mainstream of what Democratic voters think of this court.
The nyt tries to declare victory over trans people yet again. It’s tedious as journalism, reflective of its obsession with promoting anti-trans animus. The author takes a highly personal disdain toward the lawyer who argued the case.

Seemingly lost in all of the NYT coverage is that what the Supreme Court did was effectively lower the evidentiary bar that state's have to meet to justify their bans. The lower courts that applied heightened scrutiny universally blocked the bans.
This framing is beneath contempt. The Christian right and MAGA launched an unprecedented assault on the civil rights of a tiny minority and successfully weaponized the pseudoliberal establishment - led by the NYT - to provide it with a medical controversy pretext that doesn’t actually exist.

She would have taken away basically all transgender rights period. Would have overturned bathrooms, sports, schools, everything.
