Often the “Court And Spark” demos are better--more tentative, more personal and vulnerable perhaps--than the streamlined excellent final LP. Joni's musicianship is at its highest level yet, her lyrics SEEM to illustrate her personal situation so boldly—blood on the tracks two years before Bob.
On Disc 3 of @JoniMitchell’s “Archives 3” box set, it’s fascinating to hear the “Court And Spark” album cohere. She tries these very different songs w/pals Neil Young & Graham Nash & it won’t work, but once Tom Scott & his jazz band get ahold of them, they blossom.

I just don't understand all the sudden hysteria over an edited Trump speech. Was political pressure applied by Washington? This reflects more poorly on the government, who are clearly the real threat to the independence of the BBC.
