NEW: Epstein survivors release the most powerful PSA I have ever seen.

Make this go viral so every member of the House of Representatives sees it.

Epstein's youngest recorded victim was 11 years old.

It would still have been morally wrong if he had sex trafficked 15 year olds.

Anyone defending sexual assault should be mocked, ridiculed, & bullied into silence.

Epstein’s many victims deserve justice, trust, & safety.

It's hard to express what it meant to watch Maurice, Natalia, Celeste, and Rhea tell their stories—in their own voices—this morning.

The segment revealed a brutal reality: homelessness at this scale isn't about personal failure. It's the result of policy choices and systems built to exploit people.

Labour Ministry will fine companies up to 5% of operating profit if they have 3 three deaths in a year.

New law: employers can get a 1-year jail term for a single death.

A knock-on effect of Trump suddenly looking weak is people feel emboldened to push back against his flunkies too. Turns out the media knows exactly how to do this when they want to
KARL: The president claims that Thanksgiving costs are down 25%. Does he know that's not true?

HASSETT: Well if you look at Walmart--

KARL: Wait a minute. I've gotta stop you. The Walmart package this year contains much less than the one last year. That's why the price is less.

A few weeks ago I decided to read a random 2020 Dem primary transcript, when so many people think they hit 'peak woke'. It's all broad economic focused, almost no mention of identity politics. It's crazy how warped people's minds have become.

The fact that trans people have to be medicalized or pathologized and made to jump through hoops to be "allowed" to transition is ridiculous. It's just medical oppression. People should be allowed to transition just because they WANT to.

I'm seeing people wonder why ICE is going after Charlotte.

ICE has been at war with Charlotte's sheriff ever since he won in 2018.

We'd covered this at Bolts back in the day; this quote is from that sheriff:
“When the 8 African American sheriffs took over the largest counties in North Carolina, it became a threat to the good ol’ boy system,” says the sheriff of Charlotte. These new sheriffs broke ties with ICE.

But GOP lawmakers cracked down this week, overbidding the governor’s veto to adopt this law:
North Carolina GOP Is Cracking Down on the Black Sheriffs Who Stood Up to ICE
Boosted by new supermajorities, Republicans are closing in on legislation to mandate more collaboration with ICE and preempt local policies hard-won by immigrants’ rights advocates.

This is important. Many of these people have been largely de facto untouchable. We must not allow them to become *accepted* as legally untouchable.
This is an important new line being crossed. Trump isn't just pardoning the act of attempting to overthrow the government on January 6: he's pardoning *those people* for committing crimes generally. He may be creating a group of (federally) legally untouchable people.

Agree. Summers engaging in friendly gossipy 100% sexist emails with underage-girls-sex-trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, long *after* Epstein had been indicted, shows remarkably poor judgement and hubris. Professional economists should openly question people and institutions that honor Summers.

This is especially key because we know that the January 6th seditionists, like all Trumpists are prone to crimes like sexually abusing children, and spousal abuse. They are, of course, setting the stage for allowing January 6th seditionists to be able to legally sexually assault children.

It’s been a pleasure working with Lex and everyone in the politics vertical at Teen Vogue. I’m heartbroken that my column, Disability Visibility, is gone. Teen Vogue was one of the few places that published disabled journalists regularly. I just spent the last 2 months working on my next column
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.
