Ilan Wurman's anti-birthright citizenship Supreme Court amicus. I won't mince words. He bastardizes the common law. It is a methodologically bankrupt approach to the history of Anglo-American constitutionalism. It is little more than preening to gain someone's favor, but certainly not a scholar's.

IMHO, this is the best way to frame this. Whether the shooting was or was not legally justified (and remember that the legal precedent tends to be incredibly cop friendly) is very different from whether the Trump administration is telling the truth about what happened. They are not. They are lying.

IMHO, this is the best way to frame this. Whether the shooting was or was not legally justified (and remember that the legal precedent tends to be incredibly cop friendly) is very different from whether the Trump administration is telling the truth about what happened. They are not. They are lying.
Might be an unpopular opinion but I think it’s weird to make a big deal about kids specifically saying the words ‘thank you’ for gifts. I think it’s much more important to see behaviors, or hear any other words, demonstrating thankfulness than to get a ‘thank you’ directed by a parent.

I remember watching the Oscars as a kid, not recognizing most of the people the In Memoriam segment but watching my grandma react to each name. I realized that someday this would change and I would be looking by at the names of people whose work I had admired — and that’s how I would know I was old.

Can the post season bring in an announcer from each of the playing teams usual broadcast crew, at least to cut to a few times during the game for color commentary? It would be nice to have at least a pretense of neutrality.

Oh god yes to (b). Clients wanting to focus on some issue that means absolutely nothing while refusing to give more details on an issue that actually matters is always a *great* sign.
/3 (3) Related issues: (a) potential client, despite having thought about this a lot, is unable to summarize problem or describe it briefly (b) potential client has lengthy set-piece explanation and refuses to be deterred by questions trying to narrow problem or reacts to questions with irritation

We had one family tv in the living room. We all watched what my parents wanted to. At commercial breaks, you had to run to brush your teeth or put on your pjs, or risk missing part of the show.
What’s a real thing from your childhood that kids these days would find completely foreign?
Like, how we used to be able to walk right up to the gate to meet our family coming off a flight.
