In the 2010s, the Icelandic tv station Channel 2 accidentally added subtitles from a gritty crime drama to an episode of Teletubbies.

For no reason at all today, I was like, hey, was there a Ralph Macchio blues movie in the 80s where he played an epic guitar battle to release his friend from a soul contract he signed with the devil, or am I just imagining that? But nope, it exists! And here it is. youtu.be/tXfZtlAPUNc?...

Okay, I think I'm ready to talk about some of the specific things that annoyed me about the #StrangerThings finale. Although I'm definitely not rewatching that ep, so this is all from memory. Obviously, #spoilers below. >>

Like maybe it's because this is fresh and I'm still annoyed, but if I had to update my Worst TV Finales of All Time list, it might look something like:
1) HIMYM
2) GoT
3) Stranger Things
4) Lost
5) QAF US

And my Best Finales of All Time remain:
1) The Good Place
2) Six Feet Under
3) Dawson's Creek

Ugh, this is definitely going on my worst finales list. It's kind of amazing how many bad choices they're making here. Such a big messy CGI fest with no genuine emotional resonance. Like I see them trying for emotion and failing really, really badly. It doesn't even feel like Stranger Things. Ugh.

One thing I did not have on my 2025 Bingo card was so many straight male hockey podcasters & YouTube reactors being sincerely obsessed with a porny gay hockey AU fanfic series, stanning characters, flipping out over relationship developments, and often being moved to tears. youtu.be/UV37ZEbwgAg?...

#Spoilers #StrangerThings #HeatedRivalry Getting two huge, emotional coming out scenes on the two biggest TV series on air right now, both on Christmas Day--that was the ending to 2025 that we all needed. We truly made the Yuletide gay.

We did it, Joe! The gay fanfiction show is now #1 on HBO Max. Take that, Pennywise!

Truly enjoying people's reactions to Heated Rivalry, although it's amusing me when people are like, "There's never been anything like this on mainstream TV before!" My dudes, QAF US premiered in 2000.

Now if your argument is there's never been a show that hit quite this many AO3 tags before, AGREED

So my fringe #StrangerThings theory is that at some point, Eleven will travel back in time, not to 1983, but to 1979, when she originally sent Henry away. It seems suspicious to me that they keep bringing up Hopper's daughter, so I feel like they're going to go far enough back to save her as well.

One thing that stands out in S5 Stranger Things is how much Joyce does not give a shit about Jonathan. She's like, "You can't go in the van, Will; it's too dangerous! Jonathan can go!"

Not that I blame her; Jonathan is so boring that I just had to Google his name bc I literally can't remember it.

I was looking through my spreadsheet of potential movie marathons (because lists are fun and soothing and so are movie marathons) and lol, I'd forgotten about the one in the upper left, which has to be my most niche movie marathon ever:

It seems like most people aren't doing this, so as a PSA: You need to start squirreling away a backup food supply. Now. This year could bring:

-Trade wars that impact supply lines
-Mass deportation of workers who harvest food
-High unemployment due to govt layoffs
-Recession panic-buying/shortages

How it's going with Amazon AI-generated review summaries! What's hilarious to me is that customer reviews are moderated & no profanity is allowed (I once had a review rejected because I said not to buy the pants unless you want camel toe), but somehow, AI is coming up with profanity all on its own.

To whoever added the feature in Outlook where you can just thumbs-up or heart an email someone sent you to acknowledge receipt instead of actually having to craft a response--I salute you. You have done God's work. Were it in my power to give you a Nobel Prize of some kind, I would do so. God bless.

I was just shopping for sugar-free Jello, and I suddenly remembered that at swim meets when I was a child, our parents and coaches would hand us packages of regular dry Jello mix to guzzle down, which was supposed to give us an "energy boost" so we would win. The 80s were wild.
