The thing I find so fascinating about their use of Swifties in this article is that unlike MAGA leaving Twitter to follow Trump to Truth Social in 2021, Swifties did this without Taylor. If she joins the app the change will be driven by her consumers not because of her or any perceived allegiance.

I heard that instead of avoiding the frog costumes after ICE sprayed pepper spray directly into 1 man’s air intake, they just started duct taping charcoal air filters to the inside of the air intake to act as a makeshift gas mask to block some of the spray in case they do it again 🐸

She’s actually not at all. They are adding to a base that already trains our Singaporean allies to fly that same aircraft. The new facility is just to train Qatari pilots, who are our allies, to defend themselves so we aren’t asked to intervene if/when our most problematic ally bombs them again.

I’ve seen a lot of people on the left agreeing with Laura Loomer’s opposition to the facility for training Qatari pilots in the US, so I wanted to provide some perspective on why she is wrong & some key pieces of information those agreeing with her are most likely missing in their assessment:

The US is NOT building a Qatari military base on US soil, they are adding a training facility to a US base that already trains pilots from our foreign allies. This is not a new thing, but an expansion of a current program that already exists at multiple bases within the US. We do this to help their militaries become more self-sufficient.
Qatar and Israel are both US allies. Israel recently illegally bombed Qatar, just miles from the largest US military base in the Middle East. which places the US right in the middle of 2 of our allies.
The US media phrased it like they are building a whole foreign base on our soil, which would be illegal, as rage bait to try to turn public opinion against Qatar right now, because our media companies are pro-Israel and the training we provide to Qatar could be used to defend themselves against Israeli aggression.

She didn’t tho at all. Her lack of understanding what that facility is for. The US regularly trains pilots for our foreign allies on US soil to help build their ability to defend themselves, this is no different. The media is trying to skew opinion against Qatar bc of the media’s pro-Israel stance

Yeah, Tree should publicize those donations more right now. I don’t think she or every artist should always have to speak out, but when your work is being used to push a harmful narrative saying or doing something to correct that, like when she publicly endorsed Kamala, shouldn’t be a hard ask.
