VP Kamala Harris had a blank space, baby, and she wrote our name! ✍️
She organized her group, Win with Black Women, in 2020 because of anger over how the Black women candidates in the running to be Biden's VP were being portrayed in the media. All the familiar tropes—the Jezebel who'd slept her way to the top, the Sapphire who emasculated and disparaged Black men—had been dusted off to smear us, and Jotaka, an activist and founder of a successful Silicon Valley consultancy, decided to mobilize Black women to fight back and rally behind Black women candidates. After that first Zoom call, others contacted Jotaka to ask how to do the same thing. From her mentoring came: Win with Black Men, White Dudes for Harris, White Women: Answer the Call, Comics for Kamala, Deadheads for Kamala, Cat Ladies for Kamala, Cooking for Kamala, Swifties for Kamala, Jewish Women for Kamala Harris, Caregivers for Harris, Republicans for Harris, and dozens more. "I look around at these screens, I look at who's in the room, and this is America..." I said. "This movement is about reminding each other that we have so much more in common than what separates us... Seeing in the face of a stranger, a neighbor."

But the Trump administration has dismissed all the scientists and other authors working on the next report at how climate change is affecting the United States. WOOD Rescinding Protection of 58 Million Acres of Forest Land The Trump administration is rolling back a landmark conservation rule from the Clinton era that prevents roadbuilding and logging on roughly 58 million acres of federal forest and wildlands. Environmentalists have indicated they'll sue to prevent its reversal and protect the forests in the West and Alaska because wildfires are more likely to occur in forests that have been developed with roads and other infrastructure. Corruption and Free Speech "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" was cancelled and "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" was recently pulled off the air indefinitely, both not without controversy. Colbert's cancellation was announced days after CBS parent company Paramount settled a lawsuit with the Trump administration and subsequently merged with Skydance Media. Kimmel's unknown future comes as Nexstar, which operates ABC affiliate stations in many markets, is closing in on its own merger deal that would require FCC approval. Also, Disney owns both ABC and ESPN, and needs the administration's approvalto complete its purchase of the NFL Network. The Trump administration is refusing to defend this law against conflicting, extreme state abortion bans. If you have a severe pregnancy complication in one of the dozen states banning abortion, President Trump has given the hospital emergency room a green light to ignore this federal law. They're all just a few of Trump's decision to deliberately make chaos to create fear and disorder for political gain. There are so many distractions the administration is creating that it's hard to keep up—it's the political version of deciphering opalite versus opal. Swifties for Hope FATHER FIGURE CDC Team in Charge of Researching IVF Cut President Trump promised to expand access to IVF and predicted that he will be known as the "fertilization president." But his administration eliminated a team at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in charge of researching those fertility treatments when the thousands of federal health agency employees lost their jobs earlier this year. The team was first created in response to a law passed by Congress in the early 1990s to promote transparency in the fertility industry. The team's work provided patients with information to know what they were getting when they went to an IVF clinic and has been used to spot problems and improve health outcomes for both mothers and babies.
