And I'll be real — this is what happens when you spend decades minimizing the importance of the arts over business/finance in education. You get a population with little-to-no understanding of artistic expression other than the desire to monetize it.

You can put Pryor/Carlin/Rivers/Chappelle through a generator and come out with structured jokes, but it will all feel as dead as a door nail. Comedy lives on a magic frisson and immediacy you just can't replicate within a computer.
