I’m so thankful for people that just care about other people. They don’t care about how other countries have treated them, they just care about helping people. That’s how I want to be and I hope for more people to feel and be the same!
I don’t even know what to say.

The people who lost children and other loved ones in the Texas floods are owed honest answers from officials. They should be told why flash flood warnings issued hours earlier were not conveyed to people in the path of the water. They don’t need more prayers from politicians. They need answers.

The fundamental choice has not been as stark since World War II: democracy and freedom, or dictatorship and tyranny.

Trump and his sycophants are siding with the latter. The rest of us must loudly, proudly, and boldly proclaim our allegiance to the former.

On July 4, 1776, Americans declared to the world their belief in freedom, not despotism.

249 years later Americans all across the country remain true to those beliefs.

YES to freedom. NO to despotism.

I cannot emphasize enough how true & real this is.

In almost anywhere on the political spectrum you ID with or major issue, there’s probably a bot/troll operation to encourage your rage and vitriol.

And how/where that rage gets directed, esp understandable rage, is what they are out to influence.
People on this app get really angry every time I point out that social media manipulation is a real phenomenon that we are all stewing in and that’s having real world consequences and I’m sure part of that is engagement farmers who do that manipulation not liking people talking about it

I have seen people saying Happy 4th of July and just think is it happy?
It's the 4th of July.

Not so much anymore with growing suppression of rights, intolerance of differences, and sidestepping the Constitution.

Social Security used to be a completely non partisan organization, not anymore. The SSA just sent out an email that is a bald faced lie. Social Security is taxed. Trump's abomination of a bill did NOTHING to remove taxes on social security. www.nbcnews.com/politics/tru...
Social Security Administration sends misleading email lauding Trump's new tax cuts law
The emails say nearly 9 in 10 Social Security beneficiaries won't pay income taxes on their benefits in the future. But the Trump tax law did not directly address Social Security.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.
