I am conscious of the fact that I knew on Saturday that when I asked people to call their Senators in the face of Alex Pretti's death, that people would call. & those calls might make a difference. & the DHS funding bill is dead right now. I don't feel immigrant death would get the same reaction.

I am begging y'all to realize that the reason they want everything to be a felony is because it creates free labor in most states *and strips voting rights to change that, at the same time*

This isn't an accident.
It was built into the 13th amendment.
It's fully intentional that it impacts people of color, especially Black folks, at the highest rates.

I’m so tired of all the myriad ways institutions are designed to make life harder for the people who are already struggling the most. And absolutely crushed waiting for the next round knowing it’s only going to get worse.

All I want from 2024 is to find my center again. To move back in to my own home after so many months adrift so I can have friends stop by, invite new feline companions into my heart, rest my head in my own bed, on my own pillows, and finally settle in to a sustainable routine.

I don't think abled people understand that breaking a disabled person's wheelchair is assault. It's equivalent to breaking your legs.
Last three have all given the local police the go ahead to bulldoze homeless encampments, displace the people living in them, and discard personal belongings including wheelchairs, medications, and other essentials.

I'm not saying the intent here is the deaths of many marginalized US residents; I'm guessing that's considered an unfortunate side effect that needs to be managed and spun.
I know a lot of folks think it's the intent and I accept there's a possibility I could be wrong.
