I think - given what's happening in Chicago, Portland, LA (and coming soon to a city near you) - that we need to start acknowledging that the administration has started a hot civil war. And they are escalating.

I fear, given the state of the world and the response within large segments of the Catholic church to Francis, whoever the new Pope is they will be an ultra-conservative reactionary.

No, Corey Booker didn't technically filibuster anything. BUT what he did was an historic & powerful act of PROTEST. Taking over the floor of the Senate for a 24+ hrs act of protest of the actions of the sitting POTUS was no less legitimate or more performative than taking to the streets.
