This country is becoming unrecognizable. What we’re seeing is state-funded fear. We’ve warned people: keep filming, go live on social media so these moments are documented and shared. This wasn’t a case involving masked ICE agents—but that’s happening too.

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

The House is set to take up the SAVE Act this week, which would make voting significantly more difficult for millions of people.

Tell your representative to vote NO now.
Stop the SAVE Act
The SAVE Act would keep millions of people from being able to vote – and would shut countless eligible voters out of our democracy. Urge Congress to vote no now.

They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.

I don’t have to agree with the Gaza protestors to defend their right to protest.

And I don’t have to want Venezuelan gang members to be here on our soil, to defend their right to due process.

Either we are a nation of laws or we are not.

And if we are not, then all is lost.
