A reminder that "Pets Tell Tales: Ancient Egypt" makes a great gift for the little history buffs in your life.

Over 200 pages of fun, educational comics, narrated by cartoon animals. Ask for it at your local bookshop and be the cool aunt/uncle etc. this Christmas! 🎁

I offer this truly wonderful moment of animation for comfort and strength to anyone who needs it.

In love with these Crane Wizard Monks I feel compelled to draw sometime, unless you beat me to it.

Found in an issue of RSPB Magazine: "Carers dressed as Cranes take part in a predator aversion training exercise."

A few in here I hadn't seen before!

Amen. Where the speech bubbles/captions go often determines my layout for the overall page. Sometimes they're the most prominent (and fun) design feature of the panel. I'd have no idea how much space to leave otherwise, and I'd hate for part of my art I'd taken time to draw to get covered up!

It was this time last year that I was wholly distracted from pressing project deadlines by making this ragtag troupe. Currently resisting the pull to add new recruites...

Ooh lovely. This is how @rikworth.bsky.social & I end our upcoming comic on animals in Rome (with mild spoiler cropped out)...
November 13, 2025 at 1:13 PM
Regrettably @rikworth.bsky.social & I won't be at @thoughtbubbleuk.bsky.social ourselves this year, BUT our new kids comic Pets Tell Tales: Ancient Egypt will be at the @hachettechildrens.bsky.social table in BUBBLEBOY HALL K18.

Good grief look at this beauty I picked up for SIX POUNDS! It's hard to capture in a photo but the cover has this lovely transluscent vellum dust jacket. Over 200 pages filled with greats new and familiar.

It gives the fullness of loose pencil and the precision of ink all at once. Almost makes the ink glow.

I really like the look of blue under-pencil. Almost a shame to remove it.

Evolution of another cover...

Evolution of a cover, for those who love seeing a bit of process as much as I do.

Been feeling this heavily lately.
