Why should adverts show a proportionally representative selection of the population? No reason at all. The choice of using representatives equally across the classes is nothing to do with 'woke'- it's because advertisers want everyone to feel 'included'. It's not DEI - it's marketing.

I once worked for a small techy startup that had many feelers out for investment. It eventually folded and I was last man standing. My phone rang and a voice said 'Paul Allen here' .I had a chat about the status of the company and it wasn't until I put the phone that I clicked who had just honed me.
