📍 District of Columbia (he/him)
Business owners constantly say they need clear guidelines so they can actually run their business. There simply was no need for the Bowser administration to upend the new normal.

Wondering where the before/after is for the $750,000 DDOT spent on streateries in Adams Morgan
DDOT continues to publish before/after analyses of safety projects. The numbers for the 9th street NW bike lanes suggest that we should be doing these projects everywhere we can. Crashes plummeted, pedestrian and bike traffic skyrocketed, and vehicle travel times dropped.

I simply can’t understand the city’s obsession with reducing customer capacity to make room for car parking

Incredible. The story says the probe may be hampered because the lead FBI agent was fired for being part of the criminal inquiry into Trump’s attempt to overturn the 2020 election.

WAMU is reporting that Kenyan McDuffie (I) is likely to run for mayor as a Democrat. He’d register as a Democrat and Anita Bonds (D) would switch to independent, because two of the at-large council seats must be held by a non-Democrat.

Would love to learn what takeaways the pilot produced. A pilot without a post-implementation analysis is just lighting $750K on fire.
DC reportedly spent $750,000 last year for a pilot for streateries in Adams Morgan to show how they could continue in future.

Now 15 months later it seems virtually none of them will remain in Adams Morgan, and DDOT is moving forward to bring back parking

Court staff doing the absolute most
A civil attorney who Trump enthusiast Lindsey Halligan brought in to prosecute the Letitia James case screwed up his initial appearance and the court had to give him step-by-step instructions about how to save a PDF.

Absolutely bananas that this hearing on policing is being conducted by the committee on public works (Nadeau) and not the committee on public safety (Pinto)
"It was alarming we were hearing one thing from elected officials but in reality something else was happening on the ground."

Advocates want the D.C. Council to publicly question MPD about their cooperation in immigration enforcement.
Questions remain about MPD’s work with ICE. Activists want lawmakers to step in
They say the D.C. Council should publicly question MPD about cooperation on immigration enforcement.
