Very bizarre line from a @screenrant.bsky.social article:
"Connie wasn't technically a member of the Cooper family. She wasn't related by blood to George, but since she lived nearby, she became a staple in the lives"
Since when do we not consider the bride's mother to be part of the family?

My wife & I both rushed to order from @aubryjoi.bsky.social's recent shop drop, without mentioning it to each other. We bought the same pin and variants of the same bookmark.
Great minds! (except the lack of communication lol)
Now we're just assuming Aubry was laughing as the orders were packed.

Kicking around the idea of a world where the only magic is teleportation. But over time, mages develop techniques to use teleportation to achieve the magic we know and love.
Move Earth? Teleportation
Fireball? Teleportation circle in a lava flow.
Acid spray? Teleport a flask from you to target

Perplexity CEO defends their product being "just a ChatGPT wrapper" by saying OpenAI is just an Azure/NVIDIA wrapper.
As much as I dislike the LLM hypewave, it's incredibly disingenuous to compare models to services that just use an API to access that model.

There's something absolutely repulsive about a company conducting a round of layoffs, providing all the ex-employees a template to announce their job loss on LinkedIn, and then putting promoting other people FIRST in that template before mentioning that the poster themselves needs a new job.

I really dislike companies that disincentive their customer service reps from actually helping customers, either through policy or metrics.
Best Buy just wanted to reschedule our delivery to the 23rd (originally the 13th) As soon as I asked to cancel the order, magically it'll come on the 14th.

And if you order from @bookshop.org today/tomorrow, there is free shipping on all orders! 😍
Can’t decide what to buy on Prime Day?
Try: absolutely nothing, and then go support indie bookstores instead 📚

Random musing: the fictional personification of user personas and trying to get your company to refer to them by name is counterproductive by harming your ubiquitous language.
Fred Fish isn't an engineer's function name, an accountant's QuickBooks code, or a marketer's target segment.
Chef is.

There's no reason this company needed to spend tons of money on domains to sell licorice, caramels and taffy.
Probably explains why their Australian Red is $1.125 per oz while Wiley Wallaby is almost half that at $0.599 per oz.

If you're located in the US, whether you're in Mississippi or not, it might be time to go shopping for a VPN. (Last time I checked, Express and Nord were good options)
As you can see here, these things happen quite suddenly, and usually on Friday afternoons.

Unfortunately, Bluesky is unavailable in Mississippi right now, due to a new state law that requires age verification for all users.
While intended for child safety, we think this law poses broader challenges & creates significant barriers that limit free speech & harm smaller platforms like ours.

I don't understand* why cat food manufacturers insist on changing their formulas. Some cats can be very picky and stop eating because it's 10% more liquidy.
(* I mean, I'm sure it's because they found a way to make 2 cents more per can. Thanks Rachel Ray!)

Can someone at Google build an age verification system based solely on the age of my GMail account?
You don't need my ID -- that account is old enough to drink all on its own.
