Coding some sensor firmware with ESP32 IDF took a few weeks longer than I thought it would, but finally all working (again). Telling myself the learning experience was worth the effort. #esp32 #electronics

I'm learning that every day is 'technical debt day'. It's just that some day I'm actively reducing it and other passively increasing it.

This prototype cycle for my temperature and humidity tracker is almost complete with a new 50% slimmer case. It's been quite a journey #electronics #kicad #esp32 #micropython #blender #3dprinting

More tests: x2 devices reporting overnight. One on my desk and the other by a window that gets morning sun. Graphs made in #Grafana. Devices are ESP32C3, #Sensirion sensors and running #Micropython. Testing a smaller battery, hence diverging battery readings. #electronics #ESP32

2nd custom sensor board created and working 🎉
1) macro shot of solder paste
2) parts placement in progress
3) finished and functioning

Temperature and humidity sensor development continues on the software front. Sleeping the hardware for 4secs between reads yields ~34.5 hrs of life on a 1100mAh battery. Going to try caching data locally and connecting/sending across the network less often next. #esp32 #micropython #electronics

I've just updated my minimal Raspberry Pi GPIO pinout, fixing the print CSS (still some work to do, I think) and making interfaces clickable to highlight related pins: pi.pinout.xyz

Social media loves graphs right?
Logging humidity, temperature and battery voltage with my custom ESP32 board is working nicely. Guess where in the graph I switched from USB to battery power. #esp32 #electronics #grafana #micropython

From pictures on a screen to real PCBs a few days later. I'm all setup to try some new assembly techniques. Stencil paste application and reflow on a cute hot-plate. Feels like it should be easy. That's usually a sure sign I have no idea what I'm doing! #electronics #esp32
