For those who are curious, the cost of parts came to about $20, which I estimate is about how much it will save me in electricity costs for a season vs their “thermostatic control” (we have cheap electricity here).

I never really trusted their alleged “thermostatic control” in the first place, which is why I’m setting up my own thermostatic control, but it’s disappointing to see that my cynicism was not misplaced.
