Thanks. We have folks in our community giving vulnerable students rides to school, and a teacher shared that they were putting small stuffed animals on their dashboards to help kids identify safe cars. ICE picked up on it and started doing the same. Horrifying.

It wouldn't work as well nowadays bc the soundscapes in television, especially in a lot of medical dramas, strives for a comparative subtlety and realism that's fundamentally just very different to mid-90s standards

i described it to my therapist as driving a giant meat puppet, but like not even getting to sit in the driver's seat, just reaching for the controls from the back. and then i started testosterone and suddenly this body isn't just mine, it's me. it's no longer just a vessel my mind lives in. it's me.
The craziest thing i experienced when starting testosterone, considering myself someone who didn't experience much dysphoria, was suddenly feeling that my body was part of me and an extension of myself
Rather than a sort of disassociated thing i was piloting and living inside

dysphoria doesn't always manifest itself as explicit discomfort with your body or identity and can often only be identified in retrospect

A lot of us are out here posting almost no art because we feel guilty about it what with (waves arms at everything) and if you just click a button when you see it that really helps.
Please stop ignoring the artists. Please stop ignoring the writers. Art is an important part of fighting fascism. Art is an important way for marginalized folks to speak and to be unapologetically themselves when so many are hostile toward us. Take a step back each day and find some art to support.
