Pretty sure some early settlers in the US and South Africa were fleeing sectarian persecution, it's not the same but relevantly similar. Australia famously started as a penal colony. Typical of settlers to be spurned by their mother country in some way

Jeffries is not going to lose his primary, that's a foregone conclusion. After the midterms, it'll either be Jeffries or a MAGA like Mike Johnson in charge of the House.
