For a second I thought "It would be cool if the next Doctor Who regenerated as an actual alien species like a Silurian" and I realized besides it being a disaster for budget and whoever they'd cast, the in-show reason they couldn't do it is the first time the Doctor shows up in Recent Past Earth...

I’ve been enjoying PLURIBUS overall but the hive mind gently breaking up with Carol (via the soothing voice of Patrick Fabian) is when I just started cackling hard

Real "Philip Marlowe with a head injury" vibe
"The sun rises. It's always doing that."

Did anyone edit this book or did it just go straight from her phone dictation app to print?
At least 40% of the book is just tortured descriptions of her surroundings.

I finally got around to reading the Absolute DC line and am really glad to be wrong - they're all amazing

But man, Absolute Wonder Woman is the best of the bunch, it's a radical reinterpretation that probably should be the primary, and I wouldn't be shocked if this makes its way into the DCU movies

“I heard [Scrooge McDuck] solved the riddle of the chupacabra - turns out it was just a shaved bear!”

God DuckTales was a good reboot, especially given that it’s built on this horrible family tragedy that only unfolds by the end of the first season, and recontextualizes Donald’s boundless rage

we're only a couple eps into the final Stranger Things season but I appreciate that at some level they're working with the idea that most of these kids are starting to develop pretty bad PTSD

Except for Steve, who emerged from all this as maybe the most level-headed dude alive, surrounded by idiots

Don’t read this if you haven’t watched the new Knives Out movie but I wrote about how the series only works because Blanc doesn’t treat the mysteries like a game but is always protecting the most vulnerable individual in the case

I don't want to rank the Benoit Blanc films; they're all very different and have specific things on their minds, but all carry the same tone so if you like one you'd like them all, it might just depend on the weather that day

But I'm wondering what the synthesis is and if it's The Brothers Bloom

Upon finishing SPIDER-MAN (2002) I think I’ve finally come to appreciate it, partly bc the 20-odd-yo FX look better than most of what’s put out today, rather than the MCU Spier-Man movies where the plots revolve around villains who are actually out for Tony Stark, or somehow OTHER SPIDER-MEN

I think my problem with the Raimi Spider-Man movies is that Tobey Maguire comes off as a real slithering creep every time he interacts with people but MJ in particular

Like, Spider-Man 2 is a great Doctor Octopus movie with a Spider-Man problem

I genuinely see Eddie’s point in Spider-Man 3

The Garfield Halloween Special gets all the attention for that cool bit of ghost animation at the end, and the Christmas special has a surprising heartfelt bit with the grandma, but only the Thanksgiving special let’s you know Jon Arbuckle is the absolute worst guy in the world

The only thing about the BOB’S BURGERS Thanksgiving episodes that bother me is that Bob apparently puts a lot of stock in basting the Turkey, which to my understanding doesn’t do much to keep the Turkey moist and just prolongs the cook time by opening the oven a bunch

Wait I want to change my answer for “Movie I’d make as a despotic president” to a “Knives Out Universe” spin-off where Marta Cabrera and Helen Brand team up with Brendan from BRICK to clear the name of Charlie Cale

Wife and I went to the mall and ate dinner at Bonefish, which serves non-alcoholic WICKED themed cocktails, one is pink and comes with a wand, one is green and with a broom

M went pink, looks at the wand, then me: “which of your figures does this go with?”

Me: Zatanna maybe?
