can't believe outlets are running moral-panic headlines again based on flimsy anecdata from the *same* trade group (the national retailer federation) and sponsored by the *same* anti-theft company (sensormatic) that had to retract this *same* "study" just two years ago for being bogus.

Hasbro's GIJoe Classified Series Legacy Action Police Officer is an incredibly versatile figure that you can plug in to just about any action figure display.
His Ghost Rider is all burning rubber and engine grease and hot goth magic chicks and leather pants and creepy bugs and drinking coffee in late night diners, and if Marvel hadn't made an editorial decision against it there'd be so much cigarette smoking, dude, and probably porno mags in the woods
A pure comics skeet: Ben Percy has written Ghost Rider, Wolverine, and Punisher, and on each title it feels like he is writing the version he most would have liked when he was 12, completely straight faced, and even if I don't like the work I have to admire that this is the exact right instinct

It's too long for Bluesky & I refuse to compromise. So here's a screenshot with the words in the alt-text.
Hey is Facebook trying to diagnose anyone else as autistic

I mean, entirely possible? But getting a true diagnosis is expensive and time consuming and at the end of the day I’m not sure it actually gets me anything besides confirming the FB algorithm was right, and also telling my family to eat it
Joe Rogan's whole deal finally made sense to me when I saw the entire cast of NewsRadio together and realized he's the shortest one, and it is a *pretty short cast to start with*

Dumb goon's got Khandi Alexander towering over him for five seasons, how's he gonna fix this problem
Not that I was ever gonna start doing this but one reason I definitely won't is, short muscular guys are inherently hilarious to look at

Like, huge veiny abs aren't going to make me 5 inches taller
I love how one of the first things a guy does when he realizes he's unappealing to women is to get jacked. Congrats, now you're unappealing and scary.
Never gonna get over how Kash Patel dresses like a 12yo
The best/worst part of OVER THE GARDEN WALL for adults is flashing back to high school and realizing your chief romantic competition was probably a Jason Funderberger

Or worse YOU were the Funderberger in someone else’s life!

(I was a zine writer and tape maker, I’m pretty sure I was a Wirt)

OK, I'm all stocked up. No matter how many trick or treaters we get, we are not going to run out of oysters this year.
This needless rant brought to you by the season 2 return of St. Denis Medical, a solid sitcom, and I'm waiting on other people at work to finish up a task so I can check something off [Jim eyeroll]

(Which I know was "Give Krazinski time to film movies" but yeesh, give it a little more of a shot)
Anyway, setting a show in say, a hospital, is a great shortcut what is an obvious creative trope - "Make your character want something but need something else," but damn looking back I can't believe they never even tried to make Jim want something besides "Pam"...except whatever that last season was
Compare to PARKS & REC, where they quickly spotted what wasn't working and fixed it so everyone *cared about something* - even if it wasn't work! Andy loved music, Tom had local ambitions, Ron loved things that were mostly "alone time"

Mark was still a "Jim" and had to be written out as a result!

And yes it was based on Tim's portrayal in the BBC version but that thing was 14 whole episodes and Tim was *not the point of audience attention* and yet they never found a different tone - at best he just moved to a different state and was a stand-offish prick to a new batch of co-workers
Like a problem the show had structurally was only showing us the characters' office life and only occasionally alluding to what they did in their off time, but Jim had NOTHING

Even Pam had art! Pam had a thing she liked doing!

What did Jim like besides "flirt with secretary" and "mock co-worker"
Every time a sitcom I like get another season it just reminds me how much time people spent rewatching The Office when Jim is a self-obsessed piece of shit

The reason Dwight has become the in-retrospect-protagonist is he cares about things he likes and fights for them and that's no longer "uncool"
