A black and white square photo print made using an ink transfer process. The image shows a white, ghostly outline that resembles a tree on a dark wall. The bright tree shape is caused by the process of efflorescence, where salt migrates to the surface creating lines and/or shapes.

The Fenland of Cambridgeshire is my photographic “backyard” -a place of wide open landscape broken by drains, droves and lines. The rich black peat , slowly eroding contrasts against constantly changing light.

Using pinhole and Holga cameras I try to capture the still beauty of the place.

"Field of Stars". This was made (circa 1950) with a strange 6x9 plastic camera known as a "Stylex"; from the Herbert George Camera Company of Chicago. Even stranger was the 1968-expired "DandiPan" film that created all those "stars". #expiredfilm #filmphotography

Teapot Rock is now sadly gone. Washed into the sea by Hurricane Fiona a few years ago. This is an ink transfer on Arches 88 paper made using hand sanitizer and some old overhead projection transparency sheets. #printmaking #pei #blackandwhitephotography

The shuttle (now gone) is what remained from a roadside attraction in Prince Edward Island, Canada. It was made mostly out of plywood and scrap metal.

I started this project a while ago & then events in life put it on the back burner. I’m hoping to pick it up again soon.

I always start a body of work with a lot of experimenting with printing, papers & processes and put them into a scrapbook. These are tea toned Cyanotypes on Japanese paper.
A book containing tea toned Cyanotypes. The prints are of jackdaws, starlings, crows and a snow landscape- the colours are black and a cream/light brown.
