From my September series. A long term project of photographing my children with a 5x4 camera using instant film 🖤
A black and white photograph of a girl paddling in a lake - she is looking down at the water. She is wearing a summer dress & the light shines on her hair and water.

Autumn. Decal paper print on synthetic medium. #printmaking
A black and white image of autumn leaves floating on the surface of a pond. Branches of surrounding trees are reflected in the water. Large cracks in the print itself create the effect of additional branches. The irregular edges of the print itself resemble a polaroid emulsion transfer.

Some portraits of children I made of a few years ago using the wet plate collodion process. The portraits are from my Stillness in Time series.

A wet plate collodion portrait of a girl who is lying down and staring directly into the camera - she has white hair and striking blue eyes - she has her hands behind her head & is wearing a white top. A wet plate collodion portrait of a boy. The image is a headshot in which the background is black. The boy has his eyes closed and the photographic process really brings out his freckles - it is a very peaceful image. A portrait of a girl. The image is slightly blurred as the girl was sitting up and the process required a long exposure time. The girl is looking slightly to the left hand side - she has a plait in her hair. She is also wearing a striped jumper. A wet plate collodion portrait of a girl wearing a cat costume - she riding a tricycle. The girl is staring directly at the camera.
