Just left a South Asian grocery with Caribbean jerk spice so my Quebecois sister in law (taught by her Jamaican husband) can cook for me & my partner of Nordic heritage.

Dear JD Vance: my Canadian “multicultural hellscape” is delicious, thanks.

It's very true.

I remember a few years ago reviewing rosters and all-star teams, and I think 50-60% of all-stars were with a different team within three years. It was like double most of the major sports leagues

There is no continuity, and it's hard for fans to get invested in players.
That's an average of 28 per team, just below 2/3 (63%) of the entire roster. If you think the rouge contributes more to attendance issues than this much roster fluidity/uncertainty, you've been radicalized. Any fan with kids will tell you the impact favourite players leaving has on actual fans.

Canada made weird tv shows because it was all being done with government funded art grant money so they fell in this wacky middle ground between “shoestring budget” and “no expectation to generate shareholder value” which is really the best way to make art

If the Hamilton Tiger-Cats win today, Ted Goveia will posthumously reach his sixth-straight Grey Cup.

By my count, 17 of the players the team will dress today are new this year, including Lawler, Dobson, Veresuk, Hill, Stubblefield, and Amos.

Saw this and thought it was interesting. For all the pomp and circumstance that MLSE gives it's TFC property - at the expense of the #Argos - the Argos averaged just 4,000 less fans than TFC.

Safe to say that it's an MLSE problem, not a #CFL or Argo fan problem.

Salaries -
TFC - $12.5m
Argos - $6m

Europeans to me: “I see the CFL is making their game American…”

Me: “No, it’s about creating more scoring and fitting into more facilities..”

Europeans: “😶”

Culture and perception are important items to measure in decision making.

Until we meet again.

If it makes any difference, Germans feel a combination of sympathy and disbelief about Canada-US relations. More than a few have asked when we are joining the EU.
