oh i have no doubt! she does really good research most times and i have learned so much from her but i cannot reward the use of these types of titles, the psychology of which she has previously discussed on her channel before when talking about clickbait!

but this title and her recent betterhelp ad read feel gross to me in a way i recognize is unfair of me as a person whose income is not dependent on clicks and views and ad reads but still. they seem to go against her whole ethos :/

i can’t fault her for it, because clearly it works and gets her views (look at the viewership numbers here versus her less clickbaity titles over her most recent video) but it makes my teeth itch

a screenshot of the how to cook that youtube channel’s recent videos, all between 200-500k views each, averaging about 1 video every 2ish weeks. three months ago the video “The Deadly Lunch: How Science Uncovered a Murder” was uploaded and has 523k views to date. Four days ago she posted The TRUTH About Mexican Coke (You Won't Believe What The Tests Found) and it currently has 409k views

i always ask them to do my throat swab because as a child of strep throat experience i just know they will do it better than me. i prefer to do my rectal swab myself tho. cuz i’m shy.

Our country has a legitimate gerontocracy problem. Society has accelerated so far past Boomers, I’m surprised more of them don’t have chronic whiplash. The oldest millennials are now 40 and you’re *still* refusing to pass the torch to new leaders who will actually inherit this mess y’all created.

as i see more actors and studios and directors and production houses say “well you better accept the ai slop we will give you because it is here!” i get more and more bullheaded about “you need me more than i need you” and opting out of their game ya know?
