Got someone coming Thursday to do it for $450. Pays to shop around!
Just got a quote to hang Christmas lights round my house and a tree. $1,660! And that’s not including the lights. Seems pretty bloody extortionate.

What is it with apps wanting full access to your calendar just to add events. Lyft, Cinemark - just fuck off and provide a single event I can manually add. Stop trying to be creepy and accessing my calendar.

I also love the Amazon wish lists as I can quickly find books I want, add them to my list, then refer to it when I order them at my local indie.
I love subscribing to the new author notifications thing on Amazon. Then I delete the notification, walk to the bookshop over the road, and order it from the nice lady in there. Sorry for wasting your resources, Amazon!

Wonder if anyone’s asked ChatGPT for the Epstein files?
ChatGPT is probably the biggest honey pot of willingly-turned over highly confidential information that has ever been created in human history.
also, so many of these people are just taking company confidential, proprietary data and dumping it into public iterations of ChatGPT, which is so incredibly problematic on so many levels. Even on our internal approved tools I have to tell people to turn them off when discussing certain legal stuff!

Vibe coding is so dull. Playing with Ren’Py by vibe coding an app and most of the time it’s just sitting waiting for the LLM to respond.

So the local race organizers have got a double half marathon this weekend, one Saturday and one Sunday. What idiot would not only want to run 2 half marathons over a weekend, but pay for the privilege?

Here’s a fun conspiracy theory.
There was a paper published that showed using AI reduced your critical thinking skills.
The republican US government, famous for cutting education and wanting a dumb populace as they are easy to control, is cozying up to the AI tech bros.

Hey app builders - if I turn off notifications for marketing bollocks in your app, then you send me a notification asking me to turn them back on, then I’m just going to get pissed off with your app.

So you know how there's a running gag about trying to run old school Doom or Wolfenstein on things never intended to run video games?
This guy has managed to code a web server that runs from a disposable vape 🤯

Oh yay - having the pool heater and hot tub on was blowing our power. So we paid an electrician hundreds of dollars so that now having the pool heater and hot tub on blows our power.

The fun of enabling markdown linting on a docs repo then slowly trying to clean up 1,300 errors.
It’s only enforced on PRs for files that change, not all files, but it’s good to make a start on cleaning up so editing a doc doesn’t mean making extra edits to pass the linter.

Folks, please help my amazing wife. Despite the idiots in charge having billions for concentration camps and ballrooms, education is still badly funded. Anything you can contribute will help the kids in her care.
I’ve moved to a new school and taken a role as a special education teacher. I’m looking to provide my students with more resources to make their days successful. Please think about purchasing a small item from my list to help support my students and I. www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/...

Why is there a part of me that thinks the republicans revoking vaccine mandates for kids is because the death cult is fed up with being told that guns are the number 1 cause of death in kids and instead of fixing that, they want to be able to say no it’s disease.

Using GPT-5 to generate images for a slide deck, and I'm noticing that in general the images created a brown. Anyone else noticed this? There's a general brown hue to what it creates.
