This dress was in my family's possession for at least 3 generations. This month marks 5 years since it was returned to the Oglala Lakota Sioux people, after 30ish years badgering my mom and a lengthy research project.

Here's to my city's Little Free Failure of Capitalism and its neighborly kindness with an attitude. They were switching over from summer needs to fall/winter when I swapped by, so an unusual number of bins are labeled but empty.

Idk if these are all over the city or just my neighborhood but it's my favorite campaign messaging this year.

Sexy little free failure of capitalism, which is this amazing thing and not just any old failure of capitalism

Meeples in support of their froggy comrades, handing em out today along the protest route and also in the Columbia City Seattle little free bakery box, along with slices of cake.
No Kings, but *shakes fist* by god let's eat some cake.

Yesterday I misremembered the title of this Lea & Perrins book as Dishes Men Love, and regret that it is only Dishes Men Like. It's about a hundred pages of remarkably bad ideas, but I admit I'm curious about deviled eggs held together with vinegar.

Perhaps that cat is cousins with Mr. Freddie Potato here. A shovel would be useful to move him, he's a very liquid animal.

This morning's example of why Seattle's doughnut shops are in a different league: King Donuts got pie cherries from City Fruit and made donut hole-sized clafoutis to top cherry-glazed raised doughnuts. Where is *my* clafoutis hat.

Wore this @doublehockeystix.bsky.social t-shirt to the neighborhood farmers market this afternoon, totally recommend it as an experience.

Homemade raspberry jam and honey butter at the ready, but going with the beloved boxed mix instead of homemade scone dough. Baking these tomorrow or Friday for the little free bakery, expecting a stampede.

Color is somehow redder than expected, which is silly since they're tomatoes. I reduced the caramel and it tastes just like date syrup and the dried fruit is maybe 10% tomato, 10% dried apricot, 50% date, 30% dried fig.

These were handed to @tomasaurus.bsky.social at Saturday's march as he stood on the sidewalk choosing his spot to join the masses. Seattle protests now come with adorable parade throws.
(Best guess at the moment is inkjetted Shrinky Dinks for the signs.)
