What an embarrassingly silly idea. Especially a few days after Bernice King posted a request to stop using her dad as the basis for AI nonsense.

Downtown could have "like, a 10-foot wall" where people could talk to AI versions of historical figures. "How cool would this be if we had like, a 10 foot wall. It's interactive and it's historical. And you could talk to Martin Luther King."...

Flashback to the time my engineer dad told me all we needed to do to solve Al Gore's climate problem was to cover a lot of the ocean in reflective sheets, like giant aluminum foil panels what could go wrong

Think about how for decades, one of the ingredients of a crackpot was: retired engineer.

Retired engineers, for *generations* have been a fertile ground for crackpot theories in everything.

They get that golden watch and bam, incoherent manifesto about quantum archeology inbound.

Yesterday I misremembered the title of this Lea & Perrins book as Dishes Men Love, and regret that it is only Dishes Men Like. It's about a hundred pages of remarkably bad ideas, but I admit I'm curious about deviled eggs held together with vinegar.
Vintage cookbook titled Dishes Men Like with a grid of 15 gross food illustrations on a blue background A few paragraphs introducing worcestershire sauce in an extremely silly fiction A pick-me-up for husbands who are hungover. One variant suggests adding worcestershire to sauerkraut juice. Possibly because your morning isn't already bad enough. A deviled egg recipe for a very dry, very intense filling, moistened with vinegar.

Perhaps that cat is cousins with Mr. Freddie Potato here. A shovel would be useful to move him, he's a very liquid animal.

I hope the cute little upstairs concessions booth is functional now, but that'd just be an add-on to the return of regular movies.

Hope you land somewhere great!

I just read the recent Emerald piece on Tasveer and it seems like more frequent movies are coming soon, after this festival? With masala popcorn, no less!

It's been weirdly low thus far, bet that means the deluge begins today.

I can imagine him chuckling with Adrian Smith, who represents the enormo/rural part of the state, about this take. (It's currently a 4 hour drive from the tiny town in NE where my mom grew up to the big/good hospital. Assuming no weather impacts.)

Rep. Mike Flood (R-NE) didn't seem the least bit concerned that the Senate’s supplementary $50B fund—only 1/3 of the estimated loss in federal funding—would force hospitals to “think creatively about what kind of services we need."

It’s unclear how the money would be distributed. trib.al/UFyL8Hc

I will dig it out! It is up there with my 276 Cranberry Recipes book that Ocean Spray paid for. You can sense how much the recipe developers loathe the project, unlike the Velveeta: For People Who Eat Food booklet.

I hope Tasveer is able to open for more than occasional special events someday. The Grand in Tacoma is a joy, and seems to operate almost entirely by volunteers. I've wondered if that's what the SIFF cinemas need to move toward but am ignorant of basically everything in the cinema business.

I have a truly amazing vintage cookbook from Lea & Perrins titled Dishes Men Love. Basically every recipe has at least a quarter cup of worcestershire sauce, and it's why I also once finished a bottle. I wanted Men to Love my Dishes (it set the tone of mockery when I hosted regular game nights).

The glorious superstitions I'm seeing from lifelong M's fan friends right now is like they've been hoarding a secret pile of crackpot behavior for 24 years.
