husband, dad, focused on elevating American entrepreneurs and innovators to achieve energy abundance by deploying at scale. It's simple, not easy. https://www.linkedin.com/in/jigarshahdc/
My sense is that nuclear will need to maintain its global marketshare for decades to come which will mean tripling GWs so that seems like a lot of work.

Geothermal, NG plus CCS, long duration energy storage will have to also scale up.

Solar/Wind/batteries will keep being the workhorse.

Once you’ve committed to spend $100 billion domestically wouldn’t you want to leverage that supply chain to extend nuclear power projects across the world?

Free is always problematic, but give it to folks that are willing to pay $20/month for backup power.

Batteries simple help to shift peaks so that you can use the existing infrastructure more cost effectively. Most of our distribution wires could double their capacity utilization.

You still need to build out all of the generation folks were going to do. But you save $550b in wire/substation capex

Good reading here. Many applications for energy storage.

Exactly. As you get load growth on the distribution circuit you have to shave the 100 hours of peak load or upgrade the circuit. Shaving the 100 hours is 90% cheaper than the upgrade and it uses the existing distribution more cost effectively. So you could get a rate reduction for everyone.

True - and no billionaire can try to dictate form any longer. A reckoning of centralised versus decentralised power is coming.
This is an absolute banger of a takedown of Bill Gates' latest memo from an apoplectic @jigarshahdc.bsky.social, who brought a box full of receipts.
