A Wind Advisory will be in effect on Wednesday from 4am-7pm as NW winds sustained to 25mph and gusts up to 35mph are expected. This will be valid for those in tan tomorrow.

Melissa is very close to making landfall in Jamaica as of 10am CDT. It'll be one of the strongest landfalling hurricanes in the Atlantic Basin in recorded history.

TORNADO- A very low tornado threat exists now through tomorrow afternoon for the northeast corner of our area. That's mainly the North Strand, the northeast Pee Dee, and the east Border Belt. Have ways to receive warnings overnight in these areas, just in case.

RAIN- West of I-95, rainfall totals between 1-2" are possible. East of I-95, rainfall totals between 2-4" are possible, with localized 6" possible. Minor flooding, especially in low-lying areas, is possible. Remember, if you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find a new route.
