This is incredible bc he must have a really shitty neighbour, because someone or multiple ppl had to complain about this AND the City followed up *within days*. Never see that when a contractor dead ends a sidewalk without notice or the City fails to clear said sidewalk of snow.

I may have missed it, but has any news outlet actually talked to the people who are likely going to be detained in the new 72 hour detox? Isn't talking to people most profoundly impacted by policy, like, journalism 101?

each day America outshines itself for "new worst article you'll read all year"
The women drawn to RFK Jr. see an intoxicating cocktail of romance and danger—whether it's getting attacked by a yak or texting about taking metaphorical bullets for each other.

But to most others, Kennedy is a reckless conspiracy theorist whose appetite for danger will result in a sicker America.
The inexplicable sex appeal of RFK Jr.
How can such ferocious desire be attached to this man? Two memoirs by the women who love him offer some clues.

Not to sound geriatric on main, but something that frequently makes me sad is that kids/youth these days have no opportunity to experience the freedom of being (safely) unaccounted for, just being little shits with their friends without being surveilled.

I've had more than my share of close calls with viruses this month - sneezes, coughing, maskless folks indoors joking "don't come too close, I'm contagious."
And so thankful for now I'm illness free

Also….. Deloitte is the claims administrator for the $23.3B First Nations CFS and Jordan’s Principal settlements. They’re in charge of processing claims, managing payouts, etc. And they’re out here using AI to generate a provincial health plan.

The city doesn't want to invest in safe intersections for pedestrians, lower speed road design for the safety of everyone, nor do they want to participate in any enforcement of dangerous or negligent driver behavior because suburbanites can't be in their cars for an extra 120 seconds.

I think it’s pretty clear at this point that one of the main impacts of LLMs is to disrupt thinking: to make it so that far too many people never properly learn how to do it, and then to control the output so there are thoughts that people never learn how to think.

I walk and bike across this intersection all the time with my family. It feels like the “safer” option than Osborne and River, but it’s still designed entirely for the fast flow of cars through Osborne Village, not for the many other road users in this very biking and walking-heavy neighborhood.

Some vaccines like COVID and flu don’t stop completely stop infection.

But they do reduce the risk of getting infected and greatly reduce severe illness risk.

They are still worth getting.

Since they are not 100% effective it’s also wise to add another layer of protection by wearing a mask.
