Here is open data on enforcement of the 600 block of West 41st St by NYPD Traffic.

Enforcement here has been historically scarce - but way Oct 8th, 11th, 15th, 18th saw 40, 20, 15, 18 violations respectively.

It was reported - 311-25272161 - but “observed no violation” by the time NYPD arrived an hour and a half later.

As I’ve reported, NYPD is responding better to these reports and more people need to make them.

I'm not suggesting cyclists and pedestrians should NOT be careful - just that the driver should be cautious *and has the legal obligation to do so*.

There is also a state bill from Assembly member Carroll but it has only one co-sponsor and was introduced in 2021 so yeah - not going so great.
