Many interests. News (38 years in the news biz in Wisconsin). Progressive politics. Pop culture. Vintage soul/R&B/rock LPs. Old sports cards. Baseball. Ballparks. Back roads. Dive bars with good food. Old muscle cars. Local + Packers historian (4 books).
Our Thanksgiving spread, expertly organized and prepared by our niece. Everything is outstanding. No room on the counter for the meatballs, the chocolate mousse pie or the sour cream apple pie.

Here's your vintage throwback game-day scene for today's Packers-Lions game, complete with this vintage NFL serving tray from the early '70s for Thanksgiving. Noon CT kickoff on Fox from Ford Field in Detroit. Enjoy!

Anne Frank & Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. were born in 1929. Viola Fletcher, who just died this week, was already 15 when they were born.

But while we were just with Ms. Fletcher days ago, Anne Frank & Dr King are portrayed as ancient history.

Remember, "The past is never dead. It's not even past.”

Give thanks for Doc Severinsen, still with us at 98. He retired from performing just three years ago.

First concert I ever saw: Doc Severinsen with the Minnesota Orchestra at the Minneapolis Auditorium in the summer of 1973.

Trump recently called for Democrats to be hanged, pardoned violent insurrectionists, mocked the attack on Paul Pelosi, and encouraged violence against his critics.

The majority is sick of MAGA's bad faith bullshit.

Don't give them an inch.

Scott Walker has been out of office in Wisconsin for seven years and we're nowhere near fixing the damage wrought by Scotty and his cabal. They made Wisconsin the test lab for just about every right-wing trial balloon since foisted on America.
"when these shitsticks leave office, there are going to be so many broken pieces to glue back together. please don’t scream at the next Democratic president when they don’t have everything fixed after three months. it’s going to take years."
here's today's post: "Preznit Fuckwit pardons turkeys, forgets to collect bribe" — just another batshit day in the tinpot republic of America.

Far-flung Packers fans don't need a TV map this week. Start your Thanksgiving Day with the noon CT game vs. the Lions from Ford Field in Detroit. Nationally televised on Fox with Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady on the call.

I hope folks realize that between Trump, Kushner, Hegseth, Witkoff, Noem, RFK, Jr., Kash Patel, and Tulsi Gabbard, this country is almost entirely undefended.
Q: Have you heard this audio that Bloomberg has of Witkoff coaching the Russians on how to appeal to you?

TRUMP: That's a standard thing. He's gotta sell this to Ukraine, he's gonna sell Ukraine to Russia. That's what a dealmaker does. I haven't heard it but I heard it was standard negotiation.

The Trump administration has so much disdain for women in the workforce. Like, who the fuck does this help?

Downgrading professions historically filled by women makes it harder to get student loans and it makes future career advancement more difficult. >>>

Roberts’s “corrupt bargain has had an exorbitant cost, both for the nation and the court’s reputation.”
What this article describes is, in effect, a judicial coup intended to permanently lock in Republican power and preserve corruption across the three branches and throughout corporate America. It's appalling.

Since I wrote this piece last month, Trump has called for the hanging of six Democrats who urged the military to follow the law. He's called a reporter "piggy."
No rationality. No impulse control.

The emails reveal the special training given to FBI personnel working on what it called the “Epstein Transparency Project.” In some instances they referred to it as the “Special Redaction Project.” The training entailed PowerPoint slide presentations and video instruction on how to review the files.
