Nov. 1 … barely … 12:40 AM. Photo from daughter in first year university. I don’t think she was attending a Halloween party … and has been WAITING for the time to put up her tree! The stores have been ready for weeks!! Please - no mall music yet!!

Texted this to my son this week. He tells me that at least one of his high school teachers laughs along (in a gentle way) … and he enjoys that she understands goofy kids. … and then class carries on.

The same rainbow? From the opposite side of the river. I thought of it as the remnants of the Diwali fireworks from the previous night (set off from the look-out parking lot). Not a beautiful photo but a lovely morning sight!

Sorry - CDN - how can there be a “club” for a religious, warrior-based program in a SCHOOL?!! Music, drama, yearbook, science fair, sports … but religious, anti-woke (how can being aware be so bad?!!) warriors in an academic place of learning?!!

… at first I thought you were referring to yesterday … or the day before … or the day before … We (speaking of behalf of the rest of the world!!) are not laughing. It is too scary and too painful. We did the first time around … but not now.

Slightly hazardous … in my experience. My driving became exactly on the speed limit in school zone … but sometimes had to drive with 1 hand to give the “Queen’s/ Royal wave” to the “grateful” drivers behind who were spared tickets due to my diligence and helpfulness!😎

Day 1: Cones wandered across this street to block drivers who passed the pylon party and the informative signs. Sadly, cones had to go back on guard at the sidewalk when an official came by. Pylons and signs feel sad/ frustrated for being ignored so often! Only 3 more months!

Interesting combination of photo with this headline. Despite much antipathy for attitudes in Alberta, connecting a tornado photo with great weather for the Stampede is perhaps not the message you want to be showing.

Reducing the times and NEED for 311 would be helpful. Minimum 5 pauses to push buttons for options due to lack of proper signage and police support for 100’s?/ 1000’s of cars heading north of Woodroffe towards closed KZM. Residents trapped. Accidents/ dangerous driving due to non-signs. #OttCity

Accident on Kichi Zibi Mikan (June 24). Traffic at standstill. Fire truck crawled north on packed Woodroffe, along exit ramp to access parkway, cars creeping out of way because nowhere for them to go. Fortunately temporary turn-around created for upcoming construction - used to exit all traffic.

In progress photo: 2 of a dozen native trees that I have “guerrilla gardened” into the “park” space next to my house. Used to be more trees but storms have taken many down and not been replaced. A few more will be added this year. Also placing large stakes beside “volunteer” trees so not mowed.

Your photo of motorcycles is very timely! Every Friday the 13th is a traditional motorcycle rally in Port Dover, Ontario, Canada. We used to live within an hour of the town, on a rural road … and always had a great show for the kids as flocks of Harleys rumbled by on their way to/ from the event.

Your photo of motorcycles is very timely! Every Friday the 13th is a traditional motorcycle rally in Port Dover, Ontario, Canada. We used to live within an hour of the town, on a rural road … and always had a great show for the kids as flocks of Harleys rumbled by on their way to/ from the event.
We are 100’s of km away - can see smoke hanging in air like fog. Noticeable even between our house and across the street. Can smell it occasionally. Stark reminder of suffering of fellow Cdns and interconnectedness of planet. Sunsets like Tatooine (w/ only 1 sun).
