AI is the logical endpoint of capitalism, which claims to breed innovation but instead cannibalises it. it can't replace you, only attempt to consume you.

AI is, at best, a generator of poor facsimiles. not only is it wholly incapable of replacing humans, it is barely capable of imitating us. the laziest plagiarist ever to turn in a wikipedia article in lieu of a research paper is still a better imitator than an LLM hallucinating non-existent facts.

to preempt the inevitable commenter lacking reading comprehension: I'm not saying we can't build machines and systems to automate work or help us do it more efficiently. I'm saying that AI, specifically, is not such a machine or system. it increases neither speed nor efficiency.

my actual favourite is that long before I started any kind of medical transition, I would get comments on selfies ALL THE TIME telling me I wasn't and would never be a woman. which is true! I'm not and I never will be! but...probably not the way they meant it.
