It's incredible intellectual gymnastics to accuse the anti-gun Left of causing gun violence.

The self-delusion is staggering.

Jones: I want to bring theology into this because you have all these people that want to give thoughts and prayers. But I was a minister, and that is a form of theological malpractice—when you pray for something you have the power to change.

When will this nation find its conscience?

Republicans have time to pettily paint over a memorial for people killed in a mass shooting because they can’t hate gay people enough, but they can’t be bothered to stop school shootings because they don’t love children enough.

Opinion | Florida painting over this LGBTQ memorial is a grievous offense
The memorial outside the nightclub was put in place as a vital testament to the strength, resilience and love of the LGBTQ+ community and its allies.

When any Christian movement becomes convinced that it is the only authority on truth, that anyone who opposes it is evil, and that things will only get better if it is in charge of all positions of power, that is when we know it is no longer worshiping God.

It is worshiping itself.

Illinois has officially ended the fiscal year with nearly $54 billion in revenue — the most the state has ever collected in a single year.

We've exceeded initial projections thanks to responsible fiscal management that prioritizes Illinoisans.

Faithful loyalty to the poor, the powerless, the abused, and the vulnerable, advocating on their behalf to the powerful is the characteristic of the gospel of Jesus.”

If Christians in America were truly honest with ourselves, we would admit that far too many churches have become places where people are made to be disciples of the Religious Right rather than followers of Jesus and then we would collectively repent from this harmful allegiance.

Cardinal Robert Prevost has requested everyone use the name Pope Leo XIV when addressing him.

No one seems to have a problem with using the name he’s chosen despite it not being his birth name.

Seems like a courtesy we might extend to everyone if they request it.

America is not a Christian nation.

America is a nation where the rich and powerful have reduced Christianity to just another tool to exploit for their own interests at the expense of the very people Jesus called us to serve: the poor, the hungry, the sick, the stranger, and the oppressed.
