And it was pretty! Homer spends line after line describing how pretty the armor is! In the Iliad they literally fight over fallen warriors armor! Who would fight over these guys outfits?

Bronze Age Greece was colorful! Classical Greece was colourful! No one has ever worn a leather breastplate because the idea is dumb. You don’t have to remake the Dendra cuirass (though you should) but there are so many ways that you could make that armor prettier

Also like…it looks boring. I’m not super wedded to historical accuracy in retellings of myth, cool as it would have been. It is after all not a concept that would have made sense to the Greeks themselves (see: every depiction of Achilles wearing fifth century BCE armor) but at least be inspired!
