One of the current anti-UBI arguments I keep hearing is that people will "stop working". I often wonder if those arguers are listening to what UBI is. It's enough money to cover bills and living expenses, not live some grand roller coaster ride of happiness.

Agreed. Love the sentiment, but trauma can leave you with a lot of emotional damage that affects the way you see yourself, even if you can show love and compassion to others around you.

Abandoned malls in good condition should be converted into apartments. It's been done before. Food courts could serve the same purpose they have before. Larger-scale stores could be converted into recreational areas. Opinions?

I looked it up and it turns out there were zero book related deaths in 2022 and so far none this year so, I don’t know, books may not be the problem.

Yesterday was a beloved family member's birthday. Then comes today. 22 years ago, I lost a great friend that I underappreciated. He was 21 years old. Whenever November 11 comes around, I think about him. He's missed so much since then. I still can't believe he's gone. 21 is too young
