Looks like we're at the 'negative press begins' before the eventual slide into the Gartner Hype Cycle's 'trough of disillusionment'.

I love character actors and prolific actors, and Udo Kier was both.

More than 200 films. Worked with the likes of Lars von Trier, Gus Van Sant, Werner Herzog, etc. He'd do an Ace Ventura or Armageddon.

Or he'd do Korn and Eve music videos, Red Alert 2, and appear in Madonna's book titled 'Sex'.

Me, thinking to myself, literally yesterday morning: "It's been nice and I'm shocked I've not gotten sick so far this season."

Me this morning: "Goddamnit..."

I need the adhesive to set though, so I've assembled a lovely collection of:

- 4 legs from a rolling rack holding a piece of wood in place
- a shovel resting on the crawls stairs and wedged in place by a piece of wood wedged between it and an HVAC duct

Snug as a bug, going to set in no time.

There's a wood panel in my crawl, and I'm fairly certain it's where the initial access was before they dug out part of it.

It's just wood though, so not the best for when winter hits.

So I've added an insulated panel to it.

(Only used about 1/4 of it, not sure what I'll do with the rest)

Sometimes I think a small truck would be really convenient.

Watched the first episode of Pluribus, and I'm fairly certain one of the characters had a pack of Morely cigarettes.

Hit Man (2023) was a fun surprise. Glen Powell was great, and definitely has the Brad Pitt "character actor trapped in a leading man's body" thing going on.

I found Cobb (1994) to be very much ahead of its time. Tommy Lee Jones gives a hell of a performance.

The problem with being a morning person is that your circadian rhythm doesn't care that you got in from your friend's birthday bash near midnight, and it will wake you up at 6am regardless.

You just need to accept it, Eric.

As someone who sat through and was irked by the "millennials are so different!" thing in my 20's, we seem to now be recycling those exact talking points for Gen Z.

Gen Z is apparently reshaping collaborative and empathetic leadership by embracing collaboration and empathy.

Followed up the race yesterday with my once-a-month curling group. 🥌

I am very very tired today.

Also crushed this big breakfast afterwards.

Ran my 5K this morning and the weather thankfully held out.

Somehow came third in my gender/age group 😅

When I was doing VR and mixed reality research back in ~2017, my solution for the Hololens was to tape pieces of paper to the walls to help tracking/orientation.

Lighthouse worked perfectly though.

I hope 8 years later they've solved that light issue.

I kind of find it funny that Valve has done what Microsoft/Sony are attempting to do...but have not quite pulled off yet.

I.e. Unified OS/ecosystem across multiple device form factors + choice of using official or unofficial hardware.

This hardware announcement is where the market is going.

Just walked over to the #HamOmt Farmer's Market.

Passed a guy out front who was carving a piece of wood into a dagger (?) as he walked.

Anyway, can't wait for the stadium next door to open this month.

But every time I go into that mall I go out of my way to look at the damn thing.

They want $300+ for it, and I keep thinking "maybe they'll eventually massively discount it".

And I know I'd never actually use it. And I have a Keith Courage ROM on my PC, and I never play it.

But I keep looking.

It was the only console in the house until I bought a used N64 in 1999 (?). And that made me probably one of 7 people on the planet who actually loved Keith Courage.

We eventually sold the TurboGrafx sometime in the aughts, as no one was using it.

Anyway, this quickly turned into more than "replace the faucet".
