Hi, I'm Jason Lamb.

I work in education/EdTech and live in #HamOnt.

Sometimes you'll find me talking about:

Playing softball or curling. Videogames. Hockey. A caffeine addiction. Squirrels I've befriended. Random happenings of my apparent sitcom life. Byproducts of my inability to sit still.

And let me tell you what, this is my third year and I still forget what curling terms are half the time.

"Yeah, he got the rock into the...uh, circle."

Curling for my competitive league starts Wednesday 🥌

We took the C-Division title in 2023-24 and the B-Division in 2024-25, so we've been bumped into the A-Division to start the year.

I doubt we'll win this year, as this is the division where people have custom curling gear with their names on it.

Went for a hike and took a route I haven't since the spring.

Beavers recently have moved into the area, and I found their dam.

The dam also means the river whose rocks I use to get over it has a *much* higher water level than usual, so I took a hell of a detour off the beaten path

Lane Hutson for less than Jackson LaCombe?

I do love the current Habs management.

I've been playing a lot of Hades 2 and Battlefield 6 lately.

And boy oh boy, what a wonderful surprise that both games are well optimized, run buttery smooth, and don't crash.

And it's sad that that's a shock in 2025.

Well, they got several in the house, so that went way better than either of us expected.

Friends needed two replacements for their once-a-month curling team. I've joined, and have also roped a mutual friend into playing as well. Our friend has never curled before. 🥌

I'm giving them a private curling lesson after work tonight.

This scene randomly pops into my head at least once a year. So good.

Got off work early and went on another run.

Hit my 900th Strava-tracked activity and got the 5K down to 5:03/km.

Surely the speed gains are infinitely sustainable.
New personals bests on my latest 5K run:

400m - 1:48 or 4:30/km
1/2 mile - 3:39 or 4:32/km
1K - 4:35 or 4:35/km
1 mile - 7:38 or 4:45/km
2 mile - 15:55 or 4:57/I'm
5K - 25:17 or 5:03/km 900th Strava activity notification

I'm tempted. But we're already running so many other things that the rest of the university doesn't use, and I don't want to "add" to that pile.

I don't have a ticketing system at work (yay, budgets), but I do have two Outlook folders that I sort specific requests into so I can keep track of volume.
