so CBS tonight aired the complete 12 minute CECOT package that premiered in Canada last year, with a different intro and a few minutes of tags at the end. Here are the intro changes:

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Was bummed out by not jiving with the new Jarmusch, but otherwise it's been a solid run to start the year!

I don't blame Kyle Tucker for taking $60M a season to play for the Dodgers. I don't blame the Dodgers for flexing their financial muscle. But this is the most boring possible outcome.

If I may add, this isn't "wokeness" so much as a fundamental misunderstanding of art in general and film in particular. Her belief that art's purpose is didactic, and it either teaches good lessons or bad lessons, is indistinguishable from Ben Shapiro's forays into film criticism.
there IS in fact a point where “wokeness” starts to look a lot like racism, and fractional assessments of racial makeup get you there

Basically "Hey, if this thing that didn't happen happened instead, I don't think the reaction would be the same." This is an absurd display of mental gymnastics based on absolutely nothing.
Tricia McLaughlin on Renee Good: "I think if the individual was killed last week by an illegal alien, I don't think we would be seeing any protest."

I'm hoping this becomes more of a trend in media where the writers form collectives to own the content they create instead of being under the thumb of various editorial boards that have different interest at heart. Between Defector and now Gourmet, I have hope.

I'm not an artist but my kids have discovered the Pokemon cartoon and have asked me to draw various Pokemon for them. It's been ages since I even drew recreationally but I think my Gastly turned out ok.

A must read. Now is not the time for political decorum.

Perhaps they think Harbaugh is the guy, but the Dolphins' FO has been on this cycle of head coaches since Shula retired where they get rid of them without allowing a chance to fix things. McDaniel might not be the best fit, but it's his first HC gig and Tua's brain was scrambled for half his tenure.
BREAKING: The Dolphins have fired head coach Mike McDaniel, per source.

McDaniel finishes with a 35-35 record in four seasons, including two playoff losses.

This is more or less why I canceled my subscription to the NYT over a year ago. I got a push alert about an Op-Ed co-written by RFK Jr. and Dr. Oz and was just sickened by it. The NYT has amazing journalists and their work is undermined by the powers that be tiptoeing this bullshit line.
really aggravating that the NYT has a huge pack of the best journalists on the planet, and then nearly all of the key decisions regarding attention, framing, and overall coverage are driven by a crypto right wing nepo baby and a dozen-ish of his toadies

This is in no way a silver lining, but I think the fact that Trump and his henchmen felt instantly compelled to collude in defamatory lies about Renee Good means they knew they couldn't tell the truth, which is that they all see her death--and many more--as a completely acceptable means to an end. >
