That's great! Most people don't for mild fear of not seeming smart and just pretend they know but walk away with lesser understanding. And that's even in jobs/business where money is on the line!! Consumers of media mostly can't even ask and won't do research for an article/segment they're taking in

Some people get turned off by high falutin crap. Ohers pretend they know what you mean but don't really. A vaninshly small few will look it up. But there is no reason to do it. And I see it constantly in writing from people who want you to know they went to college more than they want to communicate

Ah, yeah, read that too. Mostly watched it even because it was one of only 3-4 on the NYT list I haven't seen. But, yeah, it's mostly also a look at the production quality, aethetics and textual character arc stuff.

Ebert review was pretty cursory. YouTube offered nearly nothing. Which makes some sense given age but I expected to find more. But I'm desperate over here.

Speaking of: anyone seen good analysis, criticism, breakdown of A Prophet? I love the straightforward, onscreen tale of the protagonist but — especially in a post-Emilia Pérez world — I have some uncertain thoughts on potentially odd larger themes and metaphor that Audiard may have been suggesting.

Yeah. "The Democrats do nothing to improve our lives either!" was once more condemning but now "doing nothing" is such an amazing alternative that you can't ridicule the outcome (even if you can still find the individuals responsible pathetic and embarrassing).
